Founder and President
Ellen Kinlin is an internationally recognized recruiting specialist in Asset and Wealth Management. With three decades of experience, her market expertise and global candidate base are the most comprehensive in the industry, including WE – Women Executives, a division of ECK Consulting specializing in the recruitment of senior-level female executives in Asset & Wealth Management.
Ellen founded TeleSearch, Inc. in 1981, putting the firm on the map as one of the first to offer discount management recruitment services. After Fidelity Investments acquired TeleSearch in 1983, Ellen oversaw TeleSearch offices in Boston, New York, Chicago, and Washington, DC. In 1985, Ellen also founded J. Robert Scott, a Fidelity subsidiary specializing in retained executive search for High Tech, Biotech, and Asset and Wealth Management industries.
In 1988, Ellen founded The Kinlin Company, a boutique search firm specializing exclusively in Asset and Wealth Management. With an exceptional placement record and a roster of repeat clients, Ellen’s leadership earned The Kinlin Company a place among the top 100 woman-led businesses selected by Babson College Center for Women’s Leadership and the Commonwealth Institute.
In 2012, Ellen launched WE – Women Executives, a division of The Kinlin Company specializing in the recruitment of senior-level female executives in Asset & Wealth Management. Along with providing clients unparalleled access to a diverse slate of candidates, WE – Women Executives has a dynamic multi-platform Social Media presence dedicated to addressing issues facing women working in financial services as well as profiling C-Suite women leaders working in Asset & Wealth Management.
Ellen obtained her MBA from Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School; an MHA from Boston College; and is currently at Columbia University earning her Master’s in Bioethics and Law.
Ellen is a supporter of many educational and charitable organizations, including: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Nativity Preparatory School, Cape Cod Academy, Boston College, Suffolk University, Boys and Girls Club of America, and National Alliance on Mental Illness. Betsy Kinlin Edwards
Senior Research Associate – Unbundled Services
Betsy Kinlin is Co-founder and Senior Research Associate for the Unbundled Search service at ECK Consulting. Unbundled Search is an alternative cost effective option to full blown executive search. This service is geared predominantly to mid-level to senior professional roles within Asset & Wealth Management covering searches in Distribution, Sales, Marketing, Investments, and Human Resources. The Unbundled service offers clients Custom Research and Candidate Development, Scheduling, Follow-up and Feedback, as well as Reference Checking at an hourly or fixed fee rate. Face-to-face interviews are conducted by the client only.
Previous to ECK Consulting, Betsy was a Research Manager at Fidelity Investments in the area of Asset Management. Her responsibilities included pre-engagement research, meeting participation, lead generation and assignment intelligence. Betsy was additionally responsible for mining multiple sources of data utilizing leading technology and techniques to create a candidate pipeline and generate leads. In addition, Betsy was responsible for building and maintaining a proprietary database. Searches included midlevel assignments in sales, marketing, product management and investment management.
Betsy obtained her MBA with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School in May, 2012. She received a Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies, with a concentration in Business from Champlain College, Burlington, Vermont.
